Granger Fire Department News – November

November meetings:

November 1 – OTEP Make-up

Nov. 5^th – Officers Meeting

Nov. 6 – 6:00pm – Safety Meeting

Nov. 6 – Business/IFSTA meeting ELECTIONS

Nov.12 – County Fire Drill

Nov. 20 – County EMS

ALL DRILLS ARE AT 7:00 pm , 1900 hrs, unless listed.

Truck Checks Nov – ????

Station Clean Nov – Ken Shipman

We need to start signing up again for station clean and truck checks. Remember, it is part of our responsibility too!

From the training officer:

We will be doing pictures during November’s business meeting for the wall. New pictures will be put up. Please put on your best smile!

Also, during this drill/meeting, we will be going over our Line of Duty Death paperwork.

Donna needs a short biography on all members also by the November meeting. Age, how long you have been with the department, family – whatever you would like in it. General stuff.

IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE NOVEMBER DRILL, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH DONNA AND SHE WILL PICK UP YOUR BIOGRAPHY, GO OVER YOUR LINE OF DUTY PAPERWORK WITH YOU AND GET YOUR PICTURE.

ELECTIONS ARE BEING HELD ON NOV. 6^th. Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. Please try to be on time. There is a lot that needs to be done during this meeting. (See note from Training Officer)

Positions: Chief, Deputy Chief, Secretary/Treasurer, Captain (2 positions) and Training Officer

Check these over and come to the meeting to hear what these positions do. You can nominate yourself. If you are going to run for an office, make sure you are able to do the position.

DON’T FORGET TO GET YOUR BALLOT IN THE MAIL. FREEDOM TO VOTE IS ONE FREEDOM YOU WANT TO EXERCISE EVERY TIME. BALLOTS MUST BE IN THE MAIL TUESDAY!

Thanks to Terry Carter for coming down and giving an excellent program to the 2^nd grade students. Also, the all the schools appreciated the fire safety awareness gifts.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR –

Our Christmas Party will be December 18^th at 6:30 at the Roosevelt Elementary School, 3/4 pod. (Same place as last year). Notices will come out regarding what to bring. Remember to keep the gifts around $15.00.

This week are Parent/Teacher /Student Conferences. Students will be released at 11:30. Watch out for the little ones on the street in the early afternoons if you go out on a call.
