Fire Prevention

A defensible space is an area around your home that is made of non-combustible materials. This area acts as a buffer so that a grass or brush fire cannot reach your home. It is easy to build and may save your home from damage by fire

Smoke alarms save lives. Having a smoke alarm in your home cuts your chance of dying in a fire nearly in half! Install at least one smoke alarm on each level of your home and outside each sleeping area. Smoke alarms should be tested once a month and batteries replaced once a year or when the alarm “chirps”, warning that the battery is low.
