Welcome to City of Granger Fire Department

The Granger Fire Department is an all volunteer department located in the rural south central region of Washington state, in Yakima County. We cover aproximately 1.5 square miles with a population of 3,050 citizens.

Our primary response area includes Interstate Highways, State Highways, Railroad systems, large manufacturing plants, agricultural commodity storage and processing plants and a network of waterways made up of rivers, irrigation canals and drains.

Our roster consists of 17 volunteers with varying degrees of medical abilities, from first aid through EMT intermediate. We respond to EMS, fire, and hazmat calls within our jurisdiction 24/7. Mutul aid agreements allow for response with the neighboring cities, as well as outlying county departments, Department of Natural Resources, Bureau of Land Management, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Our compliment of vehicles include 2 county owned vehicles, a 1500 GPM Engine and a transport capable Rescue Vehicle and 2 city owned vehicles, a 1250 GPM Engine and a 2500 gallon 750 GPM 6X6 off road tender/Brush truck.

The City Department responds to approximately 130 calls per year and our County Department responds to approximately 120 calls per year. On average 72% of calls for service are medical calls or Motor vehicle accidents.
